Summer House Quilt for Mother's Day

I first started this quilt last year when the fabric first came out. I was inspired by this quilt and tutorial. I changed the square dimensions so that it could be made with a layer cake and 2 charm packs. I cut each fabric in the layer cake into 9 - 3" squares and each charm into 4 - 2.5" squares.

Took some planning but I was finally able to get the stripes on the star points to match up :)

The back. A pieced floral and green print.

I matched up the seam on the back to the front so when I quilted it the lines would be parallel.

Some of my favorite blocks:

This quilt was given to my grandmother for mother's day :)
