Quilt for Baby Marilyn

My sister had me make a quilt for her friend who was having a baby. I was told she loved floral so I knew exactly what fabric to use! I decided to go with a simple square pattern with a white solid for some contrast. I quilted it on my machine using simple straight lines. For the backing I used a large floral print and a striped fabric for the binding.

Baby Quilt

This baby quilt was made with left over HSTs from another quilt. Made with the Heirloom collection by Joel Dewberry featuring bright purple, blue, pink and green.

I quilted it with straight lines running diagonally and creating a frame with the boarder.

To add more detail I wanted to add a decorative stitch. I used a bow design on my machine. I love the extra girlishness! I backed the quilt with a solid blue and machine stitch a purple binding.
